MEET CHRISTOPHER

"Let's Thrive In District Five"
Christopher is a proud Prince Georgian and public servant with more than two decades of comprehensive work experience at the federal, state, and local levels. He is a compassionate leader who has committed his career to ensuring that his community thrives through responsible, transparent, and trustworthy leadership with dedicated constituent services. Christopher is a problem solver with an innate ability to work side-by-side with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, the private sector, and elected officials to implement solutions to complex problems.
Christopher was born to a pastor and an avid educator who served as a public school teacher and administrator for 30 plus years. They both were pillars in their community that instilled a duty to serving others with a deep sense of social responsibility. As a result of this early foundation, Christopher’s life is guided by the personal mantra of “Faith, Family, Education, and Service." His essential platform issues are:
  1. Public Safety
  2. Economic Development
  3. Education
  4. Older Adult Initiatives
  5. Community Engagement

After post-secondary education, Christopher moved to Boston where he attended Boston University and graduated with a degree in Political Science. He later obtained a Master of Public Administration. Christopher has enjoyed a diverse career focused on solving complex problems, including serving as a general services liaison for the Orange County Government, a consultant to the Department of Homeland Security and an asset analyst at State Street Bank and Trust. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Christopher served Prince Georgians by managing the County’s Outreach and Programs Unit. To achieve its mission, Christopher partnered with community key stakeholders, including County agencies, civic leaders, organizations, and the private sector to address health, safety, food insecurity and provide other County services to fellow Prince Georgians.

Currently, Christopher serves as an elected council member in the Town of Cheverly, representing his beloved Ward One. In this capacity, he works with his fellow elected officials, town administration, federal, state and county elected officials/staff, as well as key community leaders to implement smart policy. Including economic development, improving public safety, and addressing other constituents’ needs. To address the disparity in the County’s public education system, Christopher has also taken on the role of a School and Community Engagement Advocate for the County’s Office of Strategic Partnerships and Community Solutions. There he works with state and county agencies, elected officials, key community stakeholders, and the private sector to provide holistic wrap-around services that strengthen families, protect children and vulnerable adults, encourage self-sufficiency, promote personal responsibility, improve education outcomes and reduce education disparities.

Christopher currently serves on the Boston University Dean’s Advisory Board, where he is a sounding board for the Dean and the University. He recently completed his certification from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy Academy of Excellence in Local Governance. He is a member of Reid Temple A.M.E. Church in Glenn Dale, Maryland and Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Incorporated. He is an avid traveler and enjoys exploring new culinary cuisines. Christopher and his wife Minty, are the proud parents of Savannah, Christopher II, and Maverick. Let’s Thrive In District Five!
